Genesis of the idea:
Consistent execution of strategic plans is a perennial concern of CEO’s. Having been part of teams tasked with addressing strategic issues we understand the difficulty in assessing the situation, preparing the analysis, making recommendations and finalizing the plan; the even greater challenge of communicating plans to employees, and ultimately, driving the organization to align activities intelligently to the plan.
Why do these issues exist?
- Strategic analysis methods are manual processes with no discernable way to integrate various analyses into a coherent systematic approach.
- The time it takes to prepare analysis for presentation to senior management is enormous.
- Outside of the leadership team strategy doesn’t “exist” for employees. At best they have a vague sense of the company’s direction, but not of their role in achieving strategic objectives.
- There is no intelligent way to take the discretionary activities employees request to perform and easily categorize and approve them based on their alignment to strategic plans.

Preparation
The preparation functionality presents modules that delve into a particular topic your company wants to explore. Each module helps identify the elements of that topic that are strategically relevant to your business and need to be assessed.
Formulation
The formulation functionality allows you to bring together all the identified issues into OmniStrat's Formulation Engine. Here you can prioritize the most critical issues assess their impact on achieving your strategic goals, see how strengths and weaknesses interplay with opportunities and threats and finally devise a tailor-made plan of initiatives that mitigate threats and risks and capitalize on opportunities.
Execution
The execution functionality allows strategy to “exist” for employees and impact their behavior - before time and money is spent - through a simple activity approval process and dashboard. Within the application employees can access their company’s strategic plan, view their department’s tactical initiatives and make sure their significant activities support goal attainment.
Results
By correlating activities and initiatives with strategic objectives it is easy to align the organization and manage strategic plans across the enterprise and down to all employees. The results are alignment, transparency and accountability with little impact to current productivity, but huge benefits to corporate results.
